The Billing Specialist supports the Finance Department by compiling data, computing fees, and charges and preparing invoices for billing purposes. Duties include computing costs and calculating rates for goods, services, and shipment of goods; posting data; and keeping other relevant records.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
These are the basic duties and responsibilities of the position and must be performed competently. Basic duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

a) Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors.

b) Prepare itemized statements, bills, or invoices and record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered.

c) Perform bookkeeping work, including posting data or keeping other records concerning cost of goods or services or the shipment of goods.

d) Resolve customer complaints or answer customer questions regarding policies and procedures.

e) Answer telephone inquiries regarding routing or procedures.

f) Resolve discrepancies in account records.

g) Contact customers to obtain or relay account information.

h) Review Documents such as purchase orders, sales orders, maps, credit memos, to compute fees or charges due.

i) Keep records of invoices and support documents.

j) Updated manuals when rates, rules or regulations are amended.

k) Complete training and attend meetings /workshops/seminars/ continuing education appropriate to the position as assigned by direct supervisor.

l) Inform direct supervisor of all relevant departmental issues in a timely manner.

m) Perform all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

n) Comply with Wells Ag Supply policies, including Wells Ag Supply safety policies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree in a business-related field or a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office
  • Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong Decision making, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable, accountable, and efficient.
