JOB PURPOSE

The position of Warehouse Specialist is of great significance to Wells Ag Supply. A person in this position is accountable for inventory control and product rotation, along with managing areas and keeping them orderly. Also, may be responsible to transport materials to and from specified destinations in a safe and effective manner. Employees in this position are required to perform all required tasks with the utmost concentration and dedication.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These are the basic duties and responsibilities of the position and must be performed competently. Basic duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Acknowledges all customers, employees, and vendors and assists customers with product information and orders.
  • Fulfills customer’s orders in a timely and efficient manner ensuring all packages are labeled and securely staged for transport.
  • Cleans and organize lot and warehouse to ensure safety.
  • Stock and maintain warehouse and stored inventory.
  • Picks up orders ensuring all the product is safely and securely packed and labeled for shipping.
  • Drive and operate equipment to destination in a manner so as not to harm the delivery vehicle, yourself, fellow workers, customers, customer’s property, and the general public.
  • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
  • Loads and unloads truck. Cleans compartment after unloading as necessary to avoid contamination.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory records, as well as other maintenance and housekeeping records in appropriate logbooks.
  • Performs an inspection of delivery vehicle periodically and promptly report any equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Complete training and attend meetings/workshops/seminars/continuing education appropriate to the position, as assigned and approved by direct supervisor.
  • Inform direct supervisor of all relevant departmental issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Comply with Wells Ag Supply policies, including Wells Ag Supply safety policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School education or GED; or one to two years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Maintain current license that applies to the position.
  • Available to work extended hours when needed.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable, accountable, and efficient.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • Ability to work outside, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop for extended periods.
  • Must be able to frequently lift up to 10 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. In a normal workday, an employee may sit 30% of the time, stand 50% of the time, and walk 20% of the time. Employees must be able to frequently reach above shoulder level, occasionally squat, kneel, push/pull, climb/balance, and lift from high/low position.

JOB PURPOSE

The position of Semi Driver Specialist is of great significance to Wells Ag Supply. A person in this position to operates the semi delivery vehicle to transport materials to and from specified destinations in a safe and effective manner. Employees in this position are required to perform all required tasks with the utmost concentration and dedication.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

These are the basic duties and responsibilities of the position and must be performed competently. Basic duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Drive and operate equipment to destination in a manner so as not to harm the delivery vehicle, yourself, fellow workers, customers, customer’s property, and the public.
  • Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
  • Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor or dispatching personnel to receive delivery instructions.
  • Assists in Loading and unloading truck. Cleans compartment after unloading as necessary to avoid contamination.
  • Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • Assists in maintaining inventory records, as well as other maintenance and housekeeping records in appropriate logbooks.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of delivery vehicle per DOT and Company requirements.
  • Promptly report any equipment malfunctions to supervisor.
  • Maintain cleanliness and perform light maintenance of assigned delivery truck inside and out and exhibit an appropriate personal appearance to promote a positive and quality company image.
  • Complete training and attend meetings/workshops/seminars/continuing education appropriate to the position, as assigned and approved by direct supervisor.
  • Inform direct supervisor of all relevant departmental issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Comply with Wells Ag Supply policies, including Wells Ag supply safety policies

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have and maintain a valid Class A CDL license.
  • Hazmat endorsement preferred or willing to obtain within 30 days.
  • A minimum of one year of CDL driving experience preferred
  • Ability to pass Federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical.
  • Available to work extended hours when needed.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable, accountable, and efficient.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position will be exposed on a routine basis to adverse temperatures ranging from hot/warm 80-100F degrees, damp and dusty; to cold 0-40 F degrees, damp and wet.

Duties and Responsibilities

These are the basic duties and responsibilities of the position and must be performed competently. Basic duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Agronomy 

  • Develop and maintain effective business relations with current and potential customers.
  • Maintain contact lists, makes calls, and follow up with customers.
  • Respond to customer’s inquiries and questions in a timely manner.
  • Assist customers in developing better planting, cultivation, and harvesting techniques, improving crop yield, and solving problems for clients.
  • Provide a consistent communication channel between Wells Ag Supply customers and Wells Ag Supply team members to set proper service expectation levels, resolve problems and scheduling issues.
  • Research and promote agricultural strategies to counter the effects of changes in soil, climate, weather, and pest damage.
  • Visit fields to collect seed, plant, and soil samples.
  • Test samples for nutritional deficiencies, diseases, or other changes.
  • Assist with the plant sourcing, testing, and selection.
  • Keep detailed records regarding fields, customers, crops, and samples.
  • Generate reports and present findings to management, clients, or other interested parties.
  • Conduct training on products and techniques through educational presentations.

Inside Sales

  • Negotiate prices or terms of sales or service agreements.
  • Prepare and submit sales contracts for orders.
  • Visit establishments to evaluate needs or to promote product or service sales.
  • Maintain customer records, using automated systems.
  • Answer customers’ questions about products, prices, availability, or credit terms.
  • Quote prices, credit terms, or other bid specifications.
  • Contact new or existing customers to discuss how specific products or services can meet their needs.
  • Emphasize product features, based on analyses of customers’ needs and on technical knowledge of product capabilities and limitations.
  • Compute customer’s installation or production costs and estimate savings from new services, products, or equipment.
  • Select or assist customers in selecting products based on customer needs, product specifications, and applicable regulations.
  • Prepare sales presentations or proposals to explain product specifications or applications.
  • Complete expense reports, sales reports, or other paperwork.
  • Verify that delivery schedules meet project deadlines.
  • Identify prospective customers, using business directories, leads from existing clients, participation in organizations, or trade show or conference attendance.
  • Inform customers of estimated delivery schedules, service contracts, warranties, or other information pertaining to purchased products.
  • Complete training and attend meetings/workshops/seminars/continuing education appropriate to the position, as assigned and approved by direct supervisor.
  • Inform direct supervisor of all relevant departmental issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in agronomy, agriculture, sales, or a business-related field.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office
  • Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Awareness of industry trends, technology, and developments.
  • Sales and presentation skills.
