Our Open Positions

The Customer Support position will assist customers with in-person transactions and route movement of incoming and outgoing cargo and freight shipments in shipping docks. This person will also take orders face-to-face from customers and arrange pickup of freight and cargo for delivery to staging area, along with having direct communication to the warehouse. Prepare and examine bills of ladings to determine shipping charges etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

These are the basic duties and responsibilities of the position and must be performed competently. Basic duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assists customers with in-person sales orders, pickups and returns.
  • Compile warehouse paperwork for customer pickups.
  • Contact customers to respond to inquiries or to notify them when product is available for pickup or delivery.
  • Log in warehouse equipment upon return.
  • Main point of contact for pickup/delivery assignments with customers and drivers.
  • Track delivery progress of LTL and hired freight shipments.
  • Work with Operations Dispatch to determine method of shipment and prepare bills of lading, invoices, and other shipping documents.
  • Quote freight rates and record shipment costs and weights.
  • File claims for lost/damaged freight.
  • Receive and distribute incoming parcels from UPS/FedEx.
  • Arrange pickup for parcels being shipped with UPS/FedEx.
  • Enter shipping information into a computer by hand or by a hand-held scanner that reads bar codes on goods.
  • Complete training and attend meetings/workshops/seminars/continuing education appropriate to the position, as assigned and approved by direct supervisor.
  • Inform direct supervisor of all relevant departmental issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Comply with Wells Ag Supply policies, including Wells Ag Supply safety policies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required. Associate degree in a business-related field or higher preferred as well as a minimum of 3 year of experience in similar role.
  • Proficiency with computers, especially MS Office
  • Exceptional active listening and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong decision making, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable, accountable, and efficient.

A warehouse specialist is accountable for inventory control and product rotation, along with managing areas and keeping them orderly.

Qualifications:

  • High School education or GED; or one to two years of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Maintain current license that applies to the position.
  • Available to work extended hours when needed.
  • Must be self-motivated, adaptable, accountable, and efficient.
